MINDSCAPES: MY WORK, MY JOURNEY
Fueled by an innate need to create, my creative process comes from a purely emotional state. Obscure, ambiguous but seemingly familiar imagery emerges as it is formed on the surface. Its meaning and what it becomes is left to individual interpretation. This process is an exploration of light and darkness, motion, and depth by using patterns, geometric configurations, and biomorphic shapes.
My paintings are visual interpretations of my spiritual journey. Each painting is an expression which represents a reality beyond our physical world, both internal and external places that I call Mindscapes. They are an exploration into an alternate realm of existence, the space between.
My process of creation does not begin with a predetermined vision in which the conscious state of mind plans the result; rather, it is purely the emotional state that leads and guides the process. The painting unfolds as colors and movements are formed on the surface where eventually the captured imagery reveals its meaning through what it has become.
The possibilities of this internal exploration are mysterious investigations into the dichotomies which we all experience throughout our lives. It is through this thread of commonality that I hope to inspire and encourage others to draw from and define the imagery before them.
